The location was good. Just a short walk from the beach. The restaurant staff were very friendly and obliging.
We were not pleased with the state of decor in all the rooms. The whole hotel needs a refurbishment. Our bathroom was freezing cold, with ill-fitting windows which let the cold air in. The parking was inadequate and on 3 separate occasions we could not find a space in the small carparks. we felt that the hotel was rather over-priced and did not represent value for money as compared with other hotels that we have stayed in.
Friendly professional staff , good food , nice room
Lack of wi-fi , which i feel is an important factor for business guests
The hotel expects disabled people to park a distance from the entrance and then carry own bags all way to hotel and up to room. I had requested disabled parking on booking. The manager passed the comment the only space available was the owners and he could not allow guests park there, however later he did allow a guest to park there. During my stay a fellow guest was the only person polite enough to offer assistance. The room was so unclean, personal documents of a previous guest were still in the room and I nearly hung myself on a spiders web.
Nothing, it was dirty and shabby and would definitely never stay there again
The Hinton Firs was a very reasonable walk from Bournemouth rail station and very close to the conference I was attending that weekend. The beach was a stone's throw away and a good number of restaurants and clubs were within a 15 minute walk or so. The staff were friendly and helpful and the common sections of the hotel were very attractive and well-kept. The price was very good.
I stayed in the 'Cottage', a small, separate building, so I don't know what the rooms in the main hotel were like. My room was a single, and relatively small but not unusually so. The decor was dated and worn, the room was cleanish but the presence of easily-visible spiders in the corners of the ceiling in the room and the en-suite helped give the impression that the cleaning was no more than perfunctory. The bath/shower had no mold or mildew but was very cramped and the hot water had a bit of randomness to its availability and balance. The television was tiny, so some people may be bothered by that. The bed was comfortable enough but the linens were worn and a bit too crispy while having some debris on them that, once again, gave the impression that the cleaning was only skin deep. The price, £48, was exceptional for the location but not for the quality of the room. I would stay there again, but I wouldn't stay there with my wife, who is more picky. At least not in the cottage.
The staff, room 49, the outside pool, the fact that we aren't told about the silly pool opening and closing times, the smell.
1. Pressure of shower 2. Algae in the outdoor swimming pool 3. Dated beige decor 4. Threadbare carpet in communal areas 5. Slow service at breakfast 6. Having to pay extra at breakfast for mushrooms/a second slice of bacon/a second sausage 7. Being told I could have got a better deal if I'd phoned instead of using the internet. 8. Old fashioned windows 9. Old fashioned small TV
very good all round hotel and resort. good parking facility.
Room was small , noisy ( close to kitchine and some boiler outside) No parking as I had to move my car outside the hotel. The remote control needs batteries Wndows not modern
Close to beach
Location. Staff Pretty and helpful receptionists. Restarunt staff happy but service is very slow Free tea and coffee in the evenings and we got out mOney back by helping ourselves to their mint biscuits.
We were in 67 which is effectively in the loft and although it's was a hot week, with no a/c the room was unbearably hot and with just a tiny window, too stuffy. The lift is a piece of 18century luxury but is too small, old and cumbersome for today's couple and their bags, as two hands are needed to get in and out. Mind you fingers! Pools are alright but sharp pointy edges underwater should have never been allowed. Breakfast is shabby;, service and sitting are very slow. 30 mins to be sat and served in a 40% full sitting? Food is ok but on our last day I'm convinced my cold old sausage was plucked out of the bin as it was not the same texture as my previous weeks excellent sausages. As it was my last day and we were late I didn't complain and resorted to McDonalds at Asda instead - poor eh?
Location to the top of Eastcliff. Bar area was comfortable and reasonable snacks.
Disabled room was good but access to it was very tight as was the access to the bathroom. Parking was difficult, had to park on road and cross over road with wheelchair.
Parking could be booked in advanced and you really need to do this because the car park is very small.
Bathrooms need an update - a lot of mould. Reception staff were poor.
Friendly staff, near the beach, able to go out until late without being locked out, clean pool area, juccuzzi
Limited parking, found it difficult to find,
Conveniently located, easy to book, close to amenities and the train station
Wifi only available at the ground floor
Liked the leisure facilities whilst tired were clean and available. Period features.. Decent location, off the main road but very close to beach and seaside.
Bit far out of town Cost on website compared to at hotel (higher by 30% online) Expensive breakfast a little run down in corridors/rooms
